The Franklin County commissioners will go “on the road” with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Washington Township Municipal Office, 11798 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro.

It is the third of new quarterly meeting held at locations throughout the county to encourage more public engagement. The first two were in Antrim Township and Path Valley.

Commissioners’ regular meetings are held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the Franklin County Administration Building in Chambersburg.

They decided earlier this year to hold one evening session a month – at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday – some of them off-site.

“The commissioners are offering residents who may not be able to attend daytime meetings a greater opportunity for public engagement,” said a county news release. “Additionally, by moving meetings to other spots in the county, the commissioners hope to make attending meetings more accessible and convenient for residents who live outside of Chambersburg.”

The final two evening meetings of the year will Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 at the administration building in Chambersburg.
