Solar activity telescope viewing to be held at Heritage Farm

This year marks a period of heightened solar activity, with an increase in sun spots and solar flares, as the sun’s magnetic poles prepare to flip — a phenomenon that occurs every 11 years. The WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardeners will hold a telescope viewing of the solar activity on 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Heritage Farm, located at the corner of Northeast 78th Street and Northeast 19th Circle.

Telescope viewings of the solar activity will be held outdoors. Participants should bring water and dress for warm weather. Pets are not permitted, excluding service animals.

Pre-registration is required and can be filled out at forms.gle/CFqM J6iptFVQ6Y4C8. Space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
