    It was a week full of local winners for baseball, softball and tennis.

    This week's Register-Guard Athlete of the Week nominees are:

    • EJ Roedl, Marist boys tennis
    • Hunter Allen, Pleasant Hill baseball
    • Gianni Lombardi, Marist baseball
    • Soraya Dorsey, Sheldon softball
    • Peyton Tyner and Andrew Forsyth, Marist boys tennis
    • Grady Saunders, Thurston baseball

    Gianni Lombardi, Marist baseball

    Sophomore Gianni Lombardi went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and scored three runs to lift the Spartans to a 14-4 five-inning mercy rule win in the 4A state quarterfinals.

    EJ Roedl, Marist boys tennis

    Sophomore EJ Roedl defeated Zareh Gonzalvo of Catlin Gabel, 6-1, 6-2, to win the 4A/3A/2A/1A boys singles title.

    Hunter Allen, Pleasant Hill baseball

    Senior pitcher Hunter Allen struck out six and allowed one run and three walks on two hits in 4.1 innings pitched to lift the Billies over Sisters, 4-1, in the 3A state quarterfinals.

    Soraya Dorsey, Sheldon softball

    Sophomore Soraya Dorsey hit a two-run home run in Sheldon's 4-1 win over Sherwood in the 6A state quarterfinals.

    Peyton Tyner and Andrew Forsyth, Marist boys tennis

    Senior doubles partners Peyton Tyner and Andrew Forsyth defeated Lucas Olander and Richard Li of Oregon Episcopal in a grueling three-set victory (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) to win the 4A/3A/2A/1A boys doubles title.

    Grady Saunders, Thurston baseball

    Sophomore Grady Saunders went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored a run and also pitched 4.0 solid innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out five in the Colts 11-0 five-inning mercy rule win over Mountain View in the 5A state quarterfinals.
