Stark County Sheriff's Office to conduct 2 sobriety checkpoints tonight. See where

The Stark County Sheriff's Office , alongside the OVI Task Force, will conduct two sobriety checkpoints tonight in Perry Township.

The first checkpoint will be in the 500 block of Whipple Avenue NW and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. The second checkpoint will be in the 4000 block of Tuscarawas Street W and is set to start at 9:30 p.m.

"We want to strongly recommend to those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements," the Sheriff's Office said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol recorded 36,919 crashes on Ohio roadways from 2021 to 2023 that involved alcohol/drug use. These crashes resulted in more than half of all motor vehicle deaths during that time.
