TGI Fridays closes its only Stark County restaurant

JACKSON TWP. ‒ TGI Fridays has closed its only Stark County location.

The restaurant at 4635 Dressler Road NW had previously been closed on a temporary basis in June to replace a gas line the company felt created an unsafe environment for customer and employees. The restaurant reopened once repairs had been completed.

A note posted on the door on Aug. 19 announced the Jackson location is now shut down, although the website and Facebook pages remain active.

Calls to the restaurant phone went unanswered on Tuesday and the doors were locked. Items such as beer were being removed.

A sign posted on the restaurant’s door reads: “Thanks for visiting our restaurant. We truly appreciate our loyal guests, and it has been our pleasure serving you."

It continued to say, “Unfortunately, we’ve made the hard decision to close this TGI Fridays restaurant. Again thank you for your patronage over all these years.”

Mathew Morris, TGI Fridays director for Ohio and Michigan, could not be reached Tuesday for comment.
