    Motorcycle crash near Alliance kills Minerva man

    WASHINGTON TWP. ‒ A 19-year-old Minerva man died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash south of Alliance on Thursday night, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

    Jed M. Unruh failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road while southbound on state Route 183 just north of Bowman Street NE, according to investigators. He lost control of the 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle and hit a tree before coming to a stop.

    Washington Township EMS took him to Aultman Hospital, where he died.

    Unruh was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:36 p.m..

    Washington Township Fire and EMS and Mel’s Towing helped the highway patrol at the scene.

    Alcohol and drug use is not considered to be a factor to the crash. It remains under investigation.
