DALTON − P. Graham Dunn plans a "shutdown" that will permanently lay off 92 employees at its retail and manufacturing facility, according to a mass layoff notice filed with the state.

The layoffs are expected to occur Oct. 20, pending the sale of the company's assets, according to a letter from the company's Human Resources Manager Darrin Hess to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.

It states the action comes "after the withdrawal from a process exploring potential buyers" that would have maintained the jobs.

The positions include roles in office, sales, packaging and various other departments at 630 Henry St., Dalton, along U.S. Route 30. It's the sole location for the home decor company, which operated a retail outlet in Canton from November 2019 to June 2022.

Hess did not immediately return The Canton Repository's message Wednesday seeking comment.

    P. Graham Dunn operates under a lease agreement at the property, which is owned by a limited liability company. Earlier this year, ProVia announced plans to purchase the Henry Street building and a nearby property on Zuercher Road.

Joe Klink, ProVia's executive director of corporate engagement, said the manufacturing expansion is still "on track."

"We anticipate closing the deal on the real estate in 2024," he said.

ProVia manufactures exterior products, such as windows and siding. The company has facilities in Holmes and Tuscarawas counties and will renovate the main Dalton site for the manufacture of steel entry doors.
