ROCKINGHAM — Richmond Senior High School junior Alivia Webb has been accepted to the 2024 session of the North Carolina Governor’s School. Webb will attend Governor’s School East at Meredith College with a focus in natural sciences.

“Alivia is a dedicated student who always thrives to do her best. This is an exciting opportunity for her and I know she will thrive in this

program, said Suzanne Hudson, Webbs’s AP U.S. Government teacher at Richmond Senior High School.

Each summer, students accepted into the program live on a college campus during their four-week session and are given the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers while exploring the most recent academic concepts in each discipline. Beyond the classroom, Governor’s School offers a vibrant campus life filled with guest speakers, elective seminars, and campus-wide activities.

These experiences foster not only intellectual growth but also personal development, creating lifelong memories and friendships along the way.

Being accepted into the North Carolina Governor’s School is not just an academic achievement; it’s a testament to one’s commitment and dedication to learning and growth. For the hundreds of bright high school students who participate every summer, it’s an experience that profoundly impacts their future and allows them to realize their potential.
