OBITUARY: Timothy Daniel Benton

Timothy Daniel Benton, 57, of Hamlet, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2024 at his home.

Tim was born Aug. 17, 1966, son of the late Eddie Daniel Benton and Barbara Jean Seevers DeLoach.

Tim worked with Lowe’s for more than 32 years. He was a longtime, active member of Outreach for Jesus, being involved as an elder, member of the Praise Team, and along with his wife, Lisa, worked with the church Food Bank. Being a devoted husband and father, Tim loved his family. He will be dearly missed.

Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Daniel Benton; daughter, Tabitha Daniell Benton; and brothers, Eddie Duane Benton and Eddie Daniel Benton.

Left to cherish Tim’s memory is his wife of 40 years, Lisa Taylor Benton of the home; daughters, Barbara Jean Benton and Megan Benton, both of the home; sisters, Cheryl Black (Jaime) of Rockingham and Pamela Myers (Alan) of Hamlet; six nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 11 a.m.-noon at Outreach for Jesus.

The funeral service will begin, immediately following visitation, at noon, with Pastor Marvin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Northam Cemetery, Rockingham.
