OBITUARY: Lawrence Howell Blakley

Lawrence Howell Blakley, 83, of Sunset Beach, passed away Thursday July 31, 2024 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.

Mr. Blakley was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Richmond County, a son of the late Mack and Glenn Caudle Blakley.

He retired as a plant engineer at Fox Yarn, and was an active employee of Sandpiper Golf Course at the time of his passing.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clegg Blakley and Bill Blakley; and sister, Sue Harrington.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Glenda Hatcher Blakley; daughter, Amy McCrimmon; stepdaughters, Donna Pevoto and Judy Chavis; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Ellen Lambert.

Graveside services will be held Sunday Aug. 4, 2024 at Rourk Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 394 Gibson Nursery Road, Ellerbe, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Mike Price officiating.
