OBITUARY: Mitchell Olen Orr

Mitchell Olen Orr, 67, of Rockingham, passed away surrounded by his family Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.

Mitchell was born and raised in Richmond County and was a son of the late Joyce and Otis Orr.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Orr.

Mitchell was a United States Army veteran and worked as a signalman for CSX Railroad. Outside of work, Mitchell was an avid Tar Heel Fan, Harley Davidson enthusiast and animal lover, especially his two dogs, Bowtie and Petey.

The family will have a private service held at a later date.

Mitchell is survived by his daughter, Marcie Wood and her husband Matt, of Rockingham; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jakob, Carleigh and Paisley; sisters, Sherry Ratliff of Boiling Springs, and Tammie Orr of Marston; and wife, Barbara Orr.
