4 sought for escaping Chesterfield County jail

CHESTERFIELD, S.C. — Four men are on the run after reportedly escaping from a South Carolina Jail.

According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, the four — Emanuel Robson Planco, Anton Conway Bennett, Kyonne Marquise McLeod and De’Shawn Malik Fox — escaped from the county detention center in the early morning hours.

“We are actively searching and working this case with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and other agencies,” reads a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.

The social media press release states that the men are wanted for escape “and other charges from the Chesterfield County Detention Center.”

Online South Carolina court records show Fox has a pending charge of third-degree assault and battery by mob from May; and McLeod has multiple charges from 2022 related to breaking into vehicles, with the case status listed as failure to comply.

Records do not show any current pending charges for Bennett or Planco. However, police in Richmond County, who received a “Be on the Lookout” alert just after 3 p.m., noted that Planco had been charged with armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.
