PHOTOS: JV Raiders vs. Lee County, Week 9

ROCKINGHAM — Richmond Senior High School’s junior varsity football team cruised past Lee County Thursday in its final home game of the season.

The JV Raiders defeated the JV Yellow Jackets 33-11.

Freshman running back Ty Covington recorded three total scores, including two touchdowns on the ground and kickoff return on the game’s first play.

Fellow freshman running back Donovan Jones carried the ball into the end zone twice for the other two scores.

Richmond led 20-3 at halftime and added a pair of scores in the final two quarters.

Sophomore linebacker Tristan Chavis and freshman linebacker Logan Carter each intercepted a pass attempt by Lee County.

The JV Raiders (7-2, 4-1 SAC) will return to play Oct. 31 at Scotland High School after their bye week.
