ROGERSVILLE — The Rogersville Middle School Warriors completed the season sweep of county rival Church Hill on Monday night with a 5-1 soccer win at Cherokee High School’s Mike Sivert Field.

Warriors’ soccer coach Matthew Kinkead said, “This is one of the best games we’ve played all season. I think the last time we beat Church Hill was when me and our athletic director, Coach Seals, played. It’s nice to really start rebuilding the program, creating a need and a culture for this sport in this area.”

The Warriors dominated the game, going ahead at the 27:10 mark on an Alexis Lozano goal. The Warriors never looked back.

Jackson Spiller scored two goals in the first half to put the Warriors up 3-0.

In the second half, Lozano and Spiller each added a goal to put the Warriors up 5-0 before Conner Williams got the Panthers on the board with about five minutes to go in the game.

The Warriors also defeated the Panthers 6-1 last week in Church Hill.
