TMS wins Lady Chiefs Softball Classic

ROGERSVILLE — The Tennessee Middle School Lady Vikings rolled through pool play and beat Liberty Bell in the title game to claim the championship in the Lady Chiefs Softball Classic on Saturday, April 6.

Eight teams competed in the annual middle school tournament, which was rescheduled from earlier in the season due to the weather. Locally, only Rogersville Middle School was able to participate on the new date. The Lady Warriors dropped a 15-0 decision to Liberty Bell and lost 23-0 to Ridgeview in Pool B competition at Rogersville City Park.

The Lady Vikings posted commanding wins over Cumberland Gap (15-0), Morristown West (9-3) and Sullivan Heights (20-3) to win Pool A at Cherokee. Liberty Bell defeated RMS (15-0), Rutledge (4-0) and Ridgeview (7-3) at Rogersville City Park to win Pool B and advance to the title game.
