CHURCH HILL — The Volunteer Falcons cruised to a pair of five-inning senior night shutouts, beating Happy Valley 15-0 and 5-0 on a rainy Friday night at Joey Seaver Field.

Between games, the Falcons honored seniors Isaiah Bowery and Connor Haynes.

Both had big nights, highlighted by a Haynes’ grand slam home run in an 11-run fourth inning for the Falcons.

The Falcons were ahead 4-0 in the opening game until the fourth-inning inning blitz that added 11 runs.

Haynes pitched four scoreless innings, surrendering only three hits to earn the win. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven. Haynes also went 2 for 2 with three runs and four RBIs at the plate. Bowery finished 2 for 4 with three runs.

The Warriors only gave up seven hits but walked 10 Falcons’ batters and committed three errors.

Austin Williams and Blakely Broussard each doubled. Williams drove in two runs and Broussard one. Greyson Dennis had the Falcons’ only other hit.

Brycen Feagins pitched a scoreless fifth, walked two and struck out one.

In the second game, Luke Armstrong gave up just one hit and struck out eight in a five-inning, complete-game shutout.

The Falcons managed just three hits themselves but took advantage of five errors by the Warriors. Bowery, Williams and Anthony Blasini each had one hit and drove in a run for Volunteer.
