Rogersville gearing up for Summer of Fun

ROGERSVILLE — Rogersville Parks & Recreation is gearing up for 2024’s Summer of Fun — and registration is already underway for a number of June events.

Here is the registration information and a look at what’s on tap in coming weeks:

Youth Golf Clinic

Registration is now open for the 2024 Summer of Fun’s Youth Golf Clinic, which will be held Thursday, June 6, from 1-3 p.m. at McDonald Hills Golf Course. The cost is $30 per person.

Children ages 6-13 will receive lessons on driving, chipping and putting during the clinic. Equipment will be provided while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis.

Disc Golf Tournament

Registration is also open for the 2024 Summer of Fun Disc Golf Tournament, which will be held Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at Rogersville City Park.

There’ll be two rounds of competition and a closest-to-pin contest. There’ll be men’s and women’s divisions for ages 17 and under and adults 18 and over. The registration fee is $10.

Home Run Derby

Registration opens June 3 at 8 a.m. for the Summer of Fun Home Run Derby. There’ll be three age divisions: high school boys (ages 14-17), high school girls (ages 14-17), men’s adult (ages 18 and older) and women’s adult (ages 18 and older). The event will be held Saturday, June 22, starting at 5 p.m.

Wiffleball Tournament

Registration opens June 10 at 8 a.m. for the Summer of Fun Wiffleball Tournament. The event will be held Saturday, June 29, starting at 10 a.m.

3v3 Basketball

Registration opens June 17 at 8 a.m. for the Fourth of July 3v3 basketball tournament. There will be two divisions: 17 and under and men’s 18 and older. Games will be played July 4 at Rogersville City Park.

Beach Volleyball Tournament

Registration opens June 24 at 8 a.m. for the Summer of Fun COED Beach Volleyball Tournament. The event will be held July 13, starting at 10 a.m.

Guys & Dolls Night

Registration opens June 24 for the Guys & Dolls Golf Night at McDonald Hills Golf Course. The event will be held July 12, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Pickleball Tournament

Registration opens July 8 at 8 a.m. for the Summer of Fun Pickleball Tournament. There’ll be an open division and senior division during the event on July 27, starting at 10 a.m.

Weekly Programs

Other programs during the 2024 Summer of Fun include:

Moonlight swims every Friday from 8-11 p.m. in June, July and August.

Aquafit at the pool every Tuesday at 6 p.m. and every Saturday at 10 a.m. in June and July.

Pickleball social league every Thursday at 6 p.m. in June and July.

Yoga in the (Crockett Spring) Park every Saturday, June 8-Aug. 3, at 10 a.m.
