    KNOXVILLE — The Knox Catholic High School cross country teams swept the team titles at the Victor Ashe Park Fall Classic on Saturday, Aug. 31, in Knoxville.

    Knox Catholic won the boys title with 61 points to get past Hardin Valley (78). The Volunteer boys finished 12th in the competitive 30-team field. Volunteer’s Roman Borghetti-Metz cracked the top 10 in the 281-runner field with a time of 16:50.52 to lead the Falcons.

    Hardin Valley’s Garrett Hawkins won the varsity boys race with a time of 15:45.73. Borghetti-Metz finished 10th overall.

    Volunteer’s Joshua Hathaway finished 60th with a time of 18:28.77. Carter Manis finished at 67th with a time of 18:38.53. Isaac Jennings crossed in 103rd place with a time of 19:31.34. Leonel Trejo finished at No. 239 with a time of 23:52.78. Garren Barnett finished at No. 252 with a time of 26:01.79.

    Knox Catholic won the girls’ team title with 63 points. Hardin Valley was second (121) and Chattanooga Christian School third (153). Volunteer finished 23rd in the tough 25-team field.

    Anderson County’s Ava Moody won the varsity girls race with a time of 19:02.15. Volunteer’s highest female finisher was Lillie Bullock, who ran a season’s best 23:22.17 to finish 56th in the field of 230 runners.

    Cayden Gent finished 153rd with a time of 27:15.93. Sophomore Ava Fleishour finished 183rd with a time of 29:47.18. Raya Kochemba finished 198th with a time of 32:05.18. Ava Saxton was 218th with a time of 35:41.18.

    In the JV boys race, Volunteer’s Dashawn Booker finished 60th with a time of 24:02.11. Brinley Buchanan finished 78th with a time of 25:11.06.
