Amazon plans to shutter a grocery fulfillment center in Yolo County where 159 people work.

The warehouse will close Oct. 30, according to a notice filed with the state Employment Development Department. The closure will affect 154 associates and five managers.

Sam Stephenson, a company spokesman, said Amazon will help its employees find other jobs at the retailer’s other sites in the area. Stephenson said in a statement that the company decided not to renew its lease at the West Sacramento facility, located at at 3640 Ramos Drive.

The company also decided, recently, to allow its lease to expire at a site in Irvine. That facility employs 162 people and will close Nov. 7, according to state records.

no, it's in West sacramento by the Walmart Super Center. this sucks for the jobs in West sacramento, but although idk how many people from West Sac worked there, overall, it's still that many jobs lost. no rent for the owner of the building and city and / or the county losses money on tax, permits, licenses, etc
