A driver is accused of intentionally hitting a pedestrian who yelled at them to slow down, Colorado police say.

The person was walking in Thornton when a car sped past the evening of Sept. 13, the Thornton Police Department said in a Sept. 24 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The walker “shouted for the driver to slow down,” police said.

Then, the driver spun the car around and “deliberately drove into the pedestrian,” leaving them seriously injured, police said.

After putting out a request to the public for information Sept. 17, police said tips and automated license plate readers helped identify the car as a black 1997 Honda Civic with the license plate number ODS232.

The car’s window also has a sticker of “a logo for Brian Crower Engine Internals,” according to police.

Police said they are searching for the car, adding that anyone who sees it should call 911 or their tip line 720-977-5069.

Thornton is about a 12-mile drive north from Denver.
