Feeling hungry? These 21 new restaurants opened in September around Sacramento

Wake up: September has ended. More than 20 new restaurants made their debut across the Sacramento region throughout the month, adding eye-catching pizzas, ramen, ceviche and more to the local dining scene.
Two restaurants opened in Folsom, Rancho Cordova and Davis, while Elk Grove, Auburn, Clarksburg, Lincoln, Loomis and Woodland each added one.
8 Hours Ramen (8469 Elk Grove Blvd., Suite 8, Elk Grove): Rice bowls and dumplings round out the menu at this Japanese restaurant in Laguna 99 Plaza, but ramen boiled for eight hours daily is the star.
Bambina’s Pizza & Pasta (1610 R St., Suite 130, Sacramento): A new Italian restaurant from Anonimo Pizza partner Juanes Ramazzini inspired by his daughter Isabella, Bambina’s began bringing octopus pesto pasta, oval-shaped flatbreads known as pinsas and Sicilian-style pepperoni pizzas to midtown’s Ice Blocks development on Sept. 20.
Bella’s Boba Shop (563 Eleanor Ave., Sacramento): Sushi rolls, papaya salad and housemade macarons dot the menu at Dao Yang’s boba shop, the first of its kind in Old North Sacramento.
Belly Barbecue (1760 Prairie City Road, Suite 120, Folsom): Georgia native Marcus Randolph opened his Texas-inspired barbecue joint on Sept. 21, hawking slow-cooked brisket and hulking beef ribs to customers in Folsom Corners shopping center.
Bento Box (50 E. Bidwell St., Suite 120, Folsom): Bella and Phil Lee’s casual Japanese concept began its soft opening at The Shops at Folsom Ranch, adding to sites in midtown Sacramento, East Sacramento and Loehmann’s Plaza.
Chicha Peruvian Kitchen (1501 16th St., Suite 101, Sacramento): Giancarlo Zapata and Marleny Chávez’s Peruvian concept, already a star in Roseville , debuted Sept. 13 in midtown Sacramento’s Fremont Building with new items such as pizza and additional ceviches.
Fluffy Donuts (1260 Lake Blvd., Suite 110, Davis): A longtime Davis staple, Fluffy shut down in August 2023 as construction began on University Mall but opened anew with bear claws and bánh mì on Sept. 21 in Westlake Plaza.
India Village (8865 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento): This new Rosemont restaurant whips up familiar Indian comfort foods such as chicken korma, matar paneer and laal maas, a spicy red lamb curry native to the state of Rajasthan.
Kopcha Indian Cuisine (855 Twelve Bridges Drive, Suite 180, Lincoln): After three years of development, this South Asian restaurant opened Sept. 25 with a lunch buffet, Nepalese momo and North Indian dishes such as chicken lababdar.
Le Bon Vin Boutique (6099 Horseshoe Bar Road, Suite A, Loomis): Former Fourk Kitchen operations manager Natalie Simonoff opened her Placer County wine bar and bottle shop with charcuterie options on Sept. 13.
Round Table Pizza (4011 Sunrise Blvd., Rancho Cordova): First opened in Menlo Park in 1959, Round Table now sells pizzas such as “Guinevere’s Garden Delight” (tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, onions and black olives with ubiquitous zesty red sauce) at dozens of area locations, including its newest in Rancho Cordova.
Sac City Pizza (4400 Freeport Blvd., Suite 150, Sacramento): South Land Park’s new pizza parlor aims to attract nearby Sacramento City College students with “Sac City combo” pies (pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers and more).
Solimar (3413 Broadway, Sacramento): A new, neighboring pizzeria from Faria Bakery owner Chris Beattie, Solimar’s pies are topped with ingredients such as Full Belly Farm figs, serrano-fig jam and toasted Marcona almonds.
Taco Exxpress (85 W. Court St., Woodland): Woodland marks the eighth location (and first in Yolo County) for this casual Cali-Mex brand, known for whipping up carne asada fries, birria ramen and $1 churros.
Tacos El Rey (10535 Folsom Blvd., Rancho Cordova): After building a local following through taco trucks, catering and housemade chorizo, Tacos El Rey opened its first brick-and-mortar taqueria on Sept. 21.
TOMO Tea House (3620 N. Freeway Blvd., Suite 300, Sacramento and 500 First St., Suite 5, Davis): Van Trinh revamped his former Bober Tea & Coffee shops to break away from the chain and offer mochi corn dogs, strawberry sago, croissant dough waffles and sugar cane drinks under TOMO’s name.
Tuk Tuk Thai Street Food (4400 Freeport Blvd., Suite 140, Sacramento): An approachable South Land Park concept named after Southeast Asia’s three-wheeled taxis, Tuk Tuk is the spot for eggplant stir-fries, drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice.
Venus Taproom Roastery & Pizza (1188 35th Ave., Sacramento): The Barrios-Allen family closed South Land Park coffee shop Barrio to open Venus, a cafe and beer bar with baked goods in the morning and pizza in the evening, on Sept. 4.
X Chicken (13479 Bowman Road, Auburn): Essy and Mali Tork, owners Essy’s Kabob in Old Foothill Farms, opened X Chicken to have a more casual shop for chicken kebabs, beef wraps, falafel bowls and more.
