See Palestinian rights group hold Sacramento vigil to mark anniversary of Israel-Hamas war

The Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights held a candlelight vigil Monday, Oct. 7, at Cesar Chavez Plaza to mark the one-year anniversary of the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.

The vigil was planned to “mourn all needless loss of life and increasing threat of war throughout the region” according to organizers. About 200 people were in attendance.

“Protests, activism, civic engagement, art, and organizing all matter, and they are all interconnected. It matters even when it feels like it doesn’t. Public pressure and civic engagement are tipping the scale on what candidates’ people choose, what products they buy and what events they go to,” said Sarah Alzanoon of Sacramento Stands With Palestine in a statement.
