Authorities temporarily halted most patient visitations Friday at Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital in Yuba County after a man allegedly issued a threat to his estranged wife, an employee of the hospital, before he was arrested, law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

Medical and law enforcement officials did not initially disclose the reason behind the pause beginning Friday afternoon, but said at that time that law enforcement was handling the issue, described as a “safety concern.” Visitor access at the hospital at 726 Fourth St., opened by 10 a.m. Saturday.

Yuba County deputies arrested a 30-year-old man just before midnight Friday at his Marysville residence on suspicion of threatening his estranged wife, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

Katy Goodson, a spokeswoman with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, declined to disclose the type of threat the man posed to his wife or how he planned to carry it out because of the ongoing investigation.

The man was arrested on suspicion of making a threat with an intent to terrorize and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to jail records. He has not yet been charged in Yuba Superior Court, according to online jail records.
