McDonald’s closes location near popular Folsom shopping area. Where are closest alternatives?

Those craving a Big Mac or McDonald’s famous fries while shopping at the Folsom Premium Outlets may have to look for alternatives.

The McDonald’s location adjacent to the outlets at 170 Iron Point Way closed this week, as first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal , for unspecified reasons. The fast-food chain’s communications department did not immediately respond to an email requesting more information about the closure.

The McDonald’s was located on the west side of the outlets across the street from a Burger King, Chili’s, Hilton Garden Inn and Curries & Biryanis buffet serving Indian food.

The closest McDonald’s to the west of the closed restaurant is off Highway 50 and Hazel Avenue across from the Sacramento State Aquatic Center at Lake Natoma. In Folsom, other remaining locations include 697 East Bidwell St. in the Folsom Central Shopping Center and 2757 East Bidwell St. a short drive east in the Broadstone Plaza shopping center.

The McDonald’s website as of Thursday morning still showed the location as open but signs outside the store labeled it permanently closed, the Business Journal first reported.

According to the McDonald’s website, there are five other restaurants in Folsom, 18 in Sacramento, nine in Roseville and seven in Elk Grove.
