Yuba City police investigating after shooting killed man in residential area

The Yuba City Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed a man Thursday night.

Officers were called about 10:50 p.m. to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a report of gunshots in the residential area, according to a news release.

Investigators found a 42-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound bleeding on the sidewalk. The man died at the scene, police said.

The victim has not been identified pending next of kin notification.

The shooting remains under investigation.
