Popular discount chain Daiso is opening new Sacramento store soon. Here’s when and where

A popular discount store chain known for its Japanese-style goods is opening its sixth store in the Sacramento area.

Daiso will celebrate its grand opening at 1872 Arden Way in Sacramento on Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20, the company announced in a news release.

The new location is advertised as “a haven for shoppers seeking quality merchandise at affordable prices.”

It’s been more than a year since Daiso opened its fifth Sacramento-area store in Elk Grove , The Sacramento Bee previously reported.

What is Daiso?

Headquartered in Japan, Daiso specializes in home decor, stationary, food items and more at bargain prices.

The Korean-owned company has “become synonymous with accessible and innovative offerings,” Daiso said in the release.

“California-based Daiso customers have shown us through our online business and social media their desire for us to have more stores within the state, influencing our immediate growth strategy in this region,” John Clarke, chief development officer for Daiso USA, said in the release.

The company operates 158 stores in a total of eight states, with more slated to open in 2025, Clarke said.

Where is new Sacramento-area discount store?

Daiso is opening its newest Sacramento-area store at the former location of Famous Footwear at the Point West Plaza shopping center.

It’s next to Hobby Lobby.

The Arden Way location features 5,715 square feet of space, according to the release.

How to get free goodie bags at grand opening

According to Daiso, the first 100 customers to shop at the Point West Plaza location on Saturday and Sunday will receive “exclusive” goodie bags.

Shoppers must make a minimum purchase of $30 to qualify for the free giveaway.

“These special offerings are Daiso’s way of expressing gratitude to its loyal customers and welcoming new shoppers to the Daiso community,” the company said in the release.

What are business open hours?

Daiso is open 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Daiso has more than 20 locations in Northern California , including five stores in the Sacramento area.
