It took eight weeks of the high school football season in Sacramento to finally have a Friday night that feels like fall season.

The league races remain hot, be it in Placer County or throughout Sacramento, Elk Grove and beyond. Three more weeks of the regular season remain after this weekend. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs start on Nov. 8.

The Bee covered two games on Friday:

    ▪ New school Twelve Bridges of Lincoln , with just its second senior class, visited old-school Placer , which opened in the 1890s, for the Foothill Valley League championship. The Raging Rhinos are ranked No. 6 by The Bee and Placer is No. 7.

    ▪ No. 3 Rocklin hosted No. 5 Granite Bay in a Sierra Foothill League contest with both having a shot of at least a share of the championship with top-ranked Folsom. Folsom has a victory over Rocklin and plays Granite Bay in the regular-season finale on Nov. 1.
