    Tornado watch issued for Dallas County

    The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 4 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

    The watch includes Dallas, Perry, Marengo, Chilton, Autauga and Lowndes counties.

    NWS said that multiple rounds of showers and storms will move through Central Alabama. The first will move through this morning into the afternoon. The second round will move through tonight into the overnight hours ahead of a cold front. Severe storms will be possible with threats including damaging winds up to 60 mph, large hail, and a tornado or two.

    Highs are expected to be in the upper 80s today with lows Thursday night into Friday morning between 65 and 70.
