    SCS seeks community input superintendent search

    The Selma City School Board announced its kick-off of the community engagement process on Monday, Sept. 16.

    A comprehensive survey will be sent to school families, faculty, staff and access will be given to members of the Selma community. You can fill out the comprehensive survey at https://forms.gle/Ws2QFeLgwijNKoZ96 .

    The SCS’s community engagement process is the community’s chance to voice your opinion on the qualities, skills, and priorities you believe are essential for the next Superintendent. In addition to completing an online comprehensive survey, the school board encourages residents to attend the community roundtables and family town hall meetings in person to help Selma City Schools get back on top with a new superintendent.

    “We believe that the success of our next Superintendent will depend on their ability to build strong relationships with all members of our community. We encourage everyone in Selma to get involved and help shape the future of our school system,” said Johnny Moss, President of the Selma City School Board.

    Here is how you can contribute to the search:

    • Now — Links to the survey will be shared via email, the Selma City Schools website, and social media channels.
    • Tuesday, Sept. 24 — There will be two opportunities for community members to share their thoughts at a Community Roundtable with K. Allen Consulting, a national consulting firm conducting the Community Engagement process. Both events will be hosted at Reflections Coffee Shoppe. The first community roundtable event will begin at 10:00 A.M.; the second one will follow immediately after at 11 a.m.
    • Monday, Sept. 23, at Meadowview Elementary School at 5 p.m..and Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Selma High School at 5 p.m. —Tthere will be two sessions for board members to hear your voices at the Family Town Hall Meetings. Parents and families

    can check SCS’s Facebook & Instagram pages for updates.

    If you would like to have your voice heard, school officials encourage you to take the survey and attend one or more of the community engagement events.
