The San Antonio Zoo Made Headlines Earlier This Year

As The Shade Room previously reported, the San Antonio Zoo in Texas made headlines earlier this year. In February, the location went viral for showcasing its annual “Cry Me A Cockroach” event, which allows visitors to purchase a cockroach for $10, name it after their ex, and feed it to a zoo animal.

Additionally, the zoo offers rats and vegetables for purchase for the occasion.

The fundraiser’s proceeds reportedly assist the zoo in maintaining itse and in other part wildlife on-sits of the world.
