The 10 Most Educated Cities In America

Forbes ranked Atlanta as the most educated in America. That’s right! — Georgia’s capital has claimed the top spot.

Atlanta News First reports that Forbes highlights Atlanta as home to major colleges like Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, and Emory University. The city also boasts several HBCUs, including Morehouse, Spelman, and Clark Atlanta.

11Alive notes that Forbes highlights these cities as hubs of innovation and tax revenue, drawing companies that seek top talent, which further boosts the concentration of highly educated people.

Forbes has clarified that “most educated” isn’t determined by a single metric. The rankings account for factors such as high school dropout rates, graduate degree attainment, and gender and racial gaps in degree completion beyond just the concentration of college graduates.

The City of Atlanta’s official X account (formerly Twitter) thanked Forbes for naming the city the most educated. The statement highlighted that this recognition reflects the community’s strong commitment to education and learning.

Arlington, Virginia, St. Petersburg, Florida, San Antonio, Texas, and San Diego, California, completed the top five most educated cities.
