Tyrese Gibson has reportedly been arrested in Atlanta, Georgia.
More Details On Tyrese’s Arrest
According to TMZ , Tyrese appeared in Fulton County court on Monday, September 9. His appearance was reportedly related to an ongoing child support battle with his ex-wife, Samantha Lee . To note, the pair share a 5-year-old daughter named Soraya.
Per the outlet, Tyrese reportedly did not comply with Judge Kevin Farmer’s order that he pay Lee $10,000 a month in child support. Furthermore, Farmer reportedly issued the order in April 2023.
During the hearing, Judge Farmer reportedly held Tyrese in contempt of court. Ultimately, the singer was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.
To note, on Sunday, September 8, Tyrese shared a message, speculating that he would likely be placed in cuffs during his court appearance.
“At 9am in the morning in Atlanta I might be arrested in court,” he wrote. “…JUDGES AND LAWYERS DEMANDED that I come to court and cancel my press and media for my 1992 movie and my new Beautiful Pain album interviews… We are APPEALING ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND ALREADY HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS JUDGE THROWN OFF THE BENCH TWICE…”
Furthermore, the singer alleged that the judge previously rejected his appeal and illegally ordered him to pay Lee over $10,000 in child support “because he felt like it.” Tyrese even concluded his message by alleging that Judge Farmers “hates” his “guts.”
“..But I must remind them and everything about my life and my success,” he wrote. “I’ve worked my ass off since I was 14 years old just to get here… #FamilyLawCourts are the WORST TOWARD FATHERS…”

According to the outlet, Tyrese will reportedly be released from custody if he pays $73,000. The amount reportedly includes a $7,500 charge to satisfy Lee’s attorney fees.
At this time, it appears Tyrese may still be in custody, as his official Instagram account appears to be inactive. However, social media users have weighed in on his arrest in The Shade Room’s comment section .

On Friday, September 6, a new episode of ‘Stepping Into The Shade Room ‘ was released. Amid the hour-long interview, Tyrese spoke about his child support payments to Lee, alleging that she has been seeking at least $20,000 a month from him.
“What I realized is, there’s no child on any level that needs $20,000 in Atlanta,” Tyrese told host Thembi. “This is not even a ‘top 35 most expensive city to live in.'”
Tyrese went on to allege that Lee earns around $160,000 annually.
“And I do well myself,” he explained. “If you get into the actual needs of the child, our daughter will never be without. So, if you’re going to leave me, and you and your lawyers are now trying to take my life with you — there’s no alimony, we had a prenup. I’m confused as [sic]. We had a baby and we’re sharing this baby so let’s make sure this baby is okay.”
