SHEBOYGAN – Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education is seeking to fill a vacant seat after a member resigned.

Mark Mancl stepped down from the position Aug. 13, according to the school district. He ran unopposed for an out-of-city seat in a spring 2022 election. His term was up in spring 2025.

Interested candidates must live within school boundaries but outside the city of Sheboygan. They should submit a declaration of interest form to the Superintendent’s Office, 3330 Stahl Road, by 4 p.m. Sept. 5.

The SASD board will hold interviews, followed by a vote and appointment of the candidate. They will hold the seat through next April. After that, they'd need to seek reelection.

Find the declaration of interest form on the SASD board of education website .
