Short film by Sheboygan filmmaker Cole J Sheldon to be showcased on streaming platform Film Shortage starting later this month

SHEBOYGAN – “Spark Plug,” a short film by Sheboygan filmmaker Cole J Sheldon, will be featured on streaming platform Film Shortage starting Oct. 20.

The film, which Sheldon describes as “an expression of things left unsaid,” “was born as a study of how two people can both be right, and also so wrong — and how those people can move past their differences,” he said in a news release.

Sheldon is owner of False Take Films. “Spark Plug” was shot last fall. On the 2024 festival circuit, it has won the Audience Choice Award at the Wisconsin Film Festival, Best Script at the Milwaukee International Short Film Fest and Best Short Film at the Brooklyn International Short Awards. It has screened at 20 festivals locally and internationally.

The film will be available to stream, free of charge, on Film Shortage’s various social platforms Oct. 20.

The news release said Sheldon won’t wait for the release of “Spark Plug” to get back to work. He is already in pre-production on a short film project exploring the minds and memories of people living with dementia. That film, titled “Five More Minutes,” is tentatively set to begin production in summer 2025.
