POTTSVILLE – As teams compete for this year’s Schuylkill League titles in baseball and softball, each hit and strikeout will help the county.

Fanelli, Evans, and Patel, a law firm based in Pottsville, is sponsoring “Hits for Heroes” and “Strike Out Hunger.” This follows their “3’s For A Cure” campaign during the winter basketball playoffs.

For each recorded hit and strikeout, the firm will donate $20 to the Schuylkill County Firefighters Association and food pantries around the county respectively.

“Too many people take for granted the heroic work which our firefighters do year round, and the chance to make a donation to their organization was a no-brainer for us,” Attorneys B.J. Evans and Sud Patel said in a joint statement. “Likewise, those people do not realize that our food pantries provide a real lifeline throughout the entire calendar year, not only close to the Holidays.”

They plan to launch similar efforts in the football and soccer seasons.
