    SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – Some road improvements are coming to West Mahanoy Township.

    West Mahanoy Township Supervisors voted to accept bids for the 2024 road program and for a stormwater project at Norton Way and Ohio Avenue in Shenandoah Heights.

    The stormwater project, which will alleviate runoff issues along Norton Way and Pennsylvania Avenue, will be paid through the American Rescue Plan.

    M&J Excavation, Bloomsburg, was the low bidder at $31,800, which supervisors voted to accept.

    Supervisors also voted to accept bids for the road program and one alternate project.

    New Enterprise Stone and Lime, of Bedford County, was the low bidder at $93,778.50.

    The following streets will be resurfaced:

    • Seneca Street from Indiana to Florida, Shen. Heights;
    • Seneca Street from Arizona to Texas, Shen. Heights;
    • Indiana Avenue from Seneca to Norton, Shen. Heights;
    • Fine Street from Line to Wylam, Altamont;
    • Spencer Street from 25′ north of Chestnut Street to Morea Road, Altamont;
    • Wyoming Avenue from California to Texas, Shenandoah Heights.

    Those improvements will be paid for through liquid fuels funding.
