Sheryl Swoopes, one of the WNBA's best guards ever, believes that some of Clark's teammates don't like the situation she's putting them in. Clark has a rabid fan base and, sometimes, they can go overboard. It's far from everyone, and there are bad actors on the other side, too. But you can't refute that there's been some toxicity surrounding Clark and her first season in the WNBA, even if it's not her fault. It's a lot," <a href="https://x.com/maxylouvr/status/1836179370140143778" rel="nofollow"> Swoopes said </a> on Gilbert Arenas's podcast. "So you have players that are very significant on this Indiana Fever team that are like, this ain't where I want to be." Swoopes referenced Aliyah Boston deleting her social media accounts earlier this season as evidence. The Fever had a tough 1-8 start to the season but have since improved, making the postseason. "So what happens when Aliyah ain't playing well again?" Swoopes asked. "So, as a player, do you want to continue to stay in a situation where you keep yourself vulnerable to all of the hate that you know is going to come to you if you're not playing the way everyone thinks you should be playing? "Not every player who's a free agent should leave because the grass probably ain't gonna be greener for you," Swoopes said. "But a player like Kelsey Mitchell -- Kelsey Mitchell could be very valuable to any team." Clark, meanwhile, is just focused on the upcoming WNBA playoffs. And she doesn't have a preference on who the Fever face in the opening round. "I don't have a preference, no," Clark said about the possible playoff opponents, <a href="https://x.com/MatthewByrne1/status/1836082719375192472" rel="nofollow"> per Matthew Byrne </a> . "I think that would be kind of crazy. "I just think wherever we go, we go, and you prep the same exact way as you would prep for anybody else," Clark added. "Obviously, there's a little more on the line, but it's basically going to be new for every single person in our franchise, minus a few players... Whoever we get, we get. And you're happy about it, you're happy to be there, and then you believe that you can compete against them." The 2024 WNBA playoffs are scheduled to begin on Sunday, Sept. 22.
