On the most recent edition of his "4th and 1" show, former Panthers star Cam Newton offered some brief advice to his fellow quarterback. "Nice guys never win," Newton <a href="https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1839377295150350777" rel="nofollow"> told Young </a> , before urging Maxey to be "very careful." "Don't allow your personal to bleed into your professional. This is not a tie-dyed shirt," he said. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Young was benched after two poor starts in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. Dalton went on to throw for 319 yards and three touchdowns as Carolina knocked off the Las Vegas Raiders. “For the last year and these two games, for the most part every snap hit my hands and I didn’t do enough with it," Young said last week, <a href="https://x.com/josephperson/status/1836861974061404432" rel="nofollow"> via Joe Person </a> of The Athletic. "I take accountability for that. There's a long list of things that I wish I was better at and I'm going to continue to work to grow and improve on."
