In her lone campaign, Weatherspoon went 13-27 as the Sky missed the postseason for the first time in five years. Chicago dealt with a multitude of injuries throughout the season, including ones to their two rookie stars, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. A star player in the WNBA with the New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks from 1997-2004, Weatherspoon was the head coach at her alma mater Louisiana Tech from 2008-14. She led the Lady Techsters to a pair of NCAA Tournament births and an WNIT appearance. The Sky are now looking for their fourth coach since winning the 2021 WNBA championship.
