Costabile <a href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/chicago-sky-and-wnba/2024/09/26/sky-fire-coach-teresa-weatherspoon-after-one-season" rel="nofollow"> reported </a> the while players were "outwardly supportive" of Weatherspoon, exit interviews revealed a "disconnect" with their coach. "Multiple players noted the changing play style throughout the year and mentioned the learning curve of being a first-year coach." Despite Weatherspoon's exit, Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca will remain in his role.
