Following the announcement, the media and fans had a frenzy on social media. Many accounts posted Clark's long list of accomplishments. One of those was major online media company, Bleacher Report. Clark reposted Bleacher Report's edit about the Rookie of the Year award, which was her first social media post following the announcement. Following that post on her Instagram story, she reposted NBA star Obi Toppin who sent a message saying "Congrats Caitlin Clark, ROTY" and also reposted Claire Kittle, San Francisco 49ers star Georgia Kittle's wife. Claire Kittle posted the Rookie of the Year announcement with a message that said "Now some R&amp;R." Clark finished her rookie season averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in average assists and tied Kelsey Mitchell for the highest point average on the Fever. A couple of records the rookie broke during the 2024 season was being the first rookie to secure a triple-double, the most points ever scored by a rookie (769), the single-game assists record (19) and much more. The rookie helped Indiana improve as a team. While she was able to earn a multitude of individual accomplishments, the Fever took a major step in Clark's rookie season. Indiana earned the No. 6 seed in the WNBA standings with a 20-20 record. Last year, the Fever posted a 13-27 record.
