Given his choice between the two, Bradshaw <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/10/17/terry-bradshaw-steelers-justin-fields-russell-wilson/?adid=social-tws" rel="nofollow"> told TMZ </a> Thursday that he would "hang my hat with the young guy." "I'm gonna stay with Fields," Bradshaw said. "I think he's played really good. "I don’t think I played good enough, if I’m being real with you," Fields said, per <a href="https://x.com/MikeDeFabo/status/1846932509654970421" rel="nofollow"> The Athletic's Mike DeFabo </a> . "If I’m being real with myself, if I did play well enough, I don’t think there would be any sort of [question] who should be playing, who should not." The Steelers acquired Wilson in the offseason with the intention of having him start, so it's understandable they would want to get him in in the lineup as soon as possible.
