Boston and Clark, along with veteran Kelsey Mitchell, transformed Indiana into a dangerous contender this season, reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2016. With their breakthrough campaign, the Fever weren't part of the lottery anymore for the top selection in the 2025 WNBA draft. Instead, they will pick at No. 8 — their lowest since 2017. It's highly unlikely that the Fever would land prospects like Connecticut's Paige Bueckers and USC's Kiki Iriafen at that spot. "Fever president Kelly Krauskopf&nbsp;has emphasized the need for experience in the starting lineup, and you don't get that in the draft," wrote Peterson.&nbsp;"Expect the Fever to prioritize a veteran forward at the four spot in their starting lineup." Peterson added that the Fever could use their No. 8 pick in a trade package to get a more seasoned addition. Mitchell is set to test the waters in free agency, while starting forward NaLyssa Smith is rumored to be on her way out after three seasons with Indiana.
