Greene Senior Center announces activities for September

The Greene County Senior Center, 104 Greenridge Road, Snow Hill, has the following activities coming up. Participants must be at least 60 and live in Greene County. Call the center at 747-5436 for details.

Arthritis Exercise with Instructor Renate Harper. Registration 10 a.m. on Aug. 27. First class 10 a.m. on Sept. 10. Sessions include health education, warm-up, range of motion/strengthening exercises and a relaxation routine at the end. There will be 18 Tuesday sessions. Participants that attend 12 out of 18 sessions will receive a certificate of completion.Tai Chi for Arthritis with instructors Sharon Harrison and Emmanuelle Quenum. Registration at 1 p.m. on Aug. 28. First class at 2 p.m. on Sept. 24. Participants completing 16 of 20 classes receive a certificate.Senior services support group meetings. Cancer Survivor Meeting 11 a.m. Aug. 29. Large caregiver lending resource library on-site.N.C. State Fair. The Greene County Senior Center will take a motorcoach to the NC State Fair on Oct. 22. It will leave the center at 7 a.m. and leave to return home at 3 p.m. Those interested must 60 years or older. To reserve your seat, complete a State Fair Permission Form and pay a $10 Registration Fee (cash only) to the Greene County Senior Center. The motorcoach is limited to 54 seats. Forms are in the center’s business office.
