State, local districts report higher teacher turnover rates
North Carolina saw a spike in teacher turnover last year, with more than 10,000 educators across the state exiting the profession, according to a report to the state Board of Education this month. The annual State of the Teaching Profession Report showed attrition was 11.5% for the 2022-23 school year, compared with 7.8% in 2021-22. The 52nd Annual Grifton Shad Festival is packed with events and entertainment from April 18-21, organizers said.
