Three teenagers - two as young as 14 - have been wounded in a shooting in south east London .

Police were called to reports of an 18-year-old man injured in residential Otlinge Road, Orpington around 10pm on Wednesday.

Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated him before taking him to hospital.

Enquiries established that the incident took place in nearby Yalding Grove.

Two further victims, both aged 14, were found with gunshot wounds whilst officers were carrying out a search of the area. The boys remain in hospital.

The three victims have non-life threatening or changing injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.

Detective Inspector Raymond Sekalongo, from Trident, said “Tackling violent crime in London remains our absolute focus and reducing shootings is key to that.

“We understand that this incident will cause concern within the community.

“We want to reassure you that we are carrying out fast-time enquiries to ensure that any suspect is apprehended.

“I know that this may cause fear within the community, which is why I will ensure that officers are present within the area to listen to any of your concerns.

“Please do approach them if you need to, they are there to support you.”

A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing with Trident detectives investigating.

Separately, two men are recovering in hospital after a shooting in Coldharbour Lane, Brixton at 12.22am on Wednesday.

One, in his 30s, had an injury to the arm. His condition was assessed as non-life-threatening but potentially life-changing.

Another man - aged in his 50s – presented himself at hospital with an ankle injury sustained when he was running away from the incident. He had not been shot.

“No other injuries have been reported,” said Scotland Yard, adding: “A number of shell casings have been recovered. There have been no arrests at this early stage.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police, quoting CAD8033/07AUG, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
