    Four people stabbed after men 'try to enter east London restaurant with knife'

    Four men were injured after armed men tried to enter a restaurant in east London in the early hours of Saturday.

    Police were called to the scene in Romford Road, Forest Gate , around 3.45am to reports of a group of men armed with a knife trying to enter a restaurant.

    Newham Council has named the restaurant as Bronze Royale African Bar.

    Officers found three men all suffering “superficial” stab injuries.

    A short while later they received another call, reporting a man had been found with stab injuries further along the road, near to the junction with Sprowston Road.

    “Officers attended and found a man with a stab wound to his leg – he was taken to hospital where he remains,” said the Met in a statement on Sunday.

    Nobody arrests have been made, but police are carrying out “urgent” enquiries and crime scenes remained in place on Sunday.

    London Ambulance Service sent three vehicles to the scnene.

    “We were called at 3.43am on 10 August to reports of a stabbing incident on Romford Road, Forest Gate.”

    “We sent ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.”

    “Our crews treated three people at the scene and took one of them to a major trauma centre.”
