West Ham have announced the signing of 18-year-old French midfielder Mohamadou Kante from Paris FC.

Kante has joined the Hammers on a five-year contract, but will return to Ligue 2 club Paris FC on loan for the rest of the season.

He has never made a senior appearance for Paris FC but has impressed in their youth ranks and is viewed as a player with big potential.

West Ham have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market this summer, having already brought in eight signings for new head coach Julen Lopetegui.

Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Guido Rodriguez, Jean-Clair Todibo, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham have all arrived, while Carlos Soler could follow.

The Irons are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a loan move for the midfielder.

West Ham travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday, having lost their first game of the season to Aston Villa.
