Man in 30s stabbed to death in Clapton street

A man in his 30s was stabbed to death on an east London street on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to Rushmore Road in Clapton shortly before 3.40pm, to reports of a “fight”.

They found a man in his 30s suffering a stab injury.

Police were joined at the scene by paramedics and an air ambulance.

“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene,” said a Met police spokesperson on Wednesday night.

“His next of kin will be informed. A crime scene is in place.”

The victim was said to be a wheelchair user, according to reports by MailOnline.

A local reportedly told the news outlet the victim had lived in the area around nine years, and described him as a “good guy”.

Two males have been arrested, said the Met. Their ages have not yet been confirmed. An investigation remains underway.
