Detectives are hunting for a gunman who shot a man in a north London park.

The shooter fired in a park off Montagu Road, Enfield , hitting a 25-year-old man.

The victim is in hospital receiving treatment for a non-life threatening bullet wound.

Police were scrambled to the scene after the shooting in the early hours of Sunday.

They have been trawling for the bullet case and gathering CCTV doorbell and dashcam footage from around the crime scene. The first the police knew about the incident was when the victim “self presented” in hospital, the Met said.

A police statement said: “Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating. They have established that the victim was shot in a park in the vicinity of Montagu Road, N18 between 01:00 and 02:00hrs.

“Detectives would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, or who may have captured the incident on their dash cam. At this early stage there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 reference CAD 1005/08Sep. To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 55 111.
